Phénoménon 3 par association Phenomenon

Troisième édition de Phenomenon, biennale d’art contemporain organisée sur l’île d’Anafi en Grèce par l’association Phenomenon et la Collection des deux collectionneurs Iordanis Kerenidis et Piergiorgio Pepe. Phenomenon 3 a eu lieu du 1 au 14 juillet 2019 sur toute l’île, incluant résidences d’artistes, performances, lectures, projections vidéo et expositions. Cette troisième édition a plus particulièrement interrogée le rôle de l’art en ces temps d’urgence politique. Les artistes, curateurs ou chercheurs suivants étaient invités : Eva Barto, Jason Dodge, David Horvitz, Florence Jung, Stelios Kallinikou, Jochen Lempert, Eileen Myles, Deimantas Narkevicius, Vittorio Santori et Paky Vlassopoulou. Le beau livre se présente sous la forme d’une reliure cartonnée au format à la française, couverture noire (imprimée en monochromie) et gardes vierges rapportées sur papier Sirio Nero. Les 168 pages du bloc intérieur sont imprimées en quadrichromie, offset HR-UV trame fine 240, sur papier non couché d’Artic Paper Amber Graphic 150 g/m².

For its third edition, Phenomenon investigated the role of art in times of political urgency. After decades of catastrophic economic and social policies, an alternative, more humane future has become unimaginable for many people. In times like this, when authoritarian ideologies prevail, populism thrives, and the other is considered a threat, art has an important role to play. Art gives us the possibility to reimagine the world, by deconstructing the normative or the obvious, and by allowing for a proliferation of perspectives and situated knowledges. By questioning singular points of view, art has the potential to create non-hierarchical way of collective life, to enable other forms of social engagement, and to produce spaces for dialogue and action.
